Hi everyone,
I just wanted to share my timeline and ask you a few question:
Outland Spousal Sponsorship
PA: Iran
Application Received: December 28, 2018
AOR1: February 10, 2019
Biometric fee payment Requested: February 11, 2019 - (I've done Biometric before and it's valid until 2025)
Started processing: February 20, 2019
SA (Sponsor Approval): March 30, 2019 - (Federal and provincial)
No sign of improvement since then.
So anyone knows why some people with the same start date already got their pre-arrival or PPR and some still not moving?
Could anyone contact the embassy for any explanation?
Is Ankara Office keeping the files waiting for a long time?
Is anyone experienced any delay more than usual processing time with this embassy?

Yes I did. The officer was trying to find out our marriage is genuine. Like when and where we met, why it took some time to get married and also questions about my wife job details. They had asked to bring more supporting documents including photos and WhatsApp messages but the officer did not look at them on the interview day.
Most likely PA is gone under security check like most other applicants from Iran. It can take up to 6-7 months from the application date. Ankara VO is not the fastest VO in the world either and it takes some time for them to get back to you. I agree with you for some applicants it takes much longer time compared to others from the same country. It is entirely up to the case officer.

Thank you. Though that’s not fair. They don’t treat applicants equally and it’s not according to their policies!!!
May I ask which sort of security check? How does it work? Which resources they have access to? Or they use?
Since Iran doesn’t share the criminal records of its citizens with other countries, Canada uses other resources like data bases of US, EU or other countries. it takes time for cic to gather up all the available data (if any) form different resources hence lengthy processing time for Iranian applicants.
Please share your time line. What you say doesn't make sense. What program exactly have you applied for? Have you applied for spouse sponsorship?
Provincial nominations....we received federal file number on 28 June 2018
MR 2 May 2019
Pre arrival letter 22 August 2019
Application received (again)5 September 2019
It's seems as the last step of your application process, I suppose. As far as I know, the files of all Iranians are transfers to Ankara VO.
