Open Spouse Work Permit Processing delay

Hello,

I had applied open spouse work permit case of my wife on 30 April 2019. On 2 May I received the biometric request and on 7 May luckily I received medical also. But after 7 May to till date, I did not receive any update regarding my case processing.

They show that "we are processing your background check" from the last four months this is the constant status on my wife application.

I am feeling frustrated and helpless at this moment. Normal processing time for these applications is 3 Months but in my case, it crossed over 4 months.

Please suggest me any solution for this, how can I request the Delhi embassy to consider my application.

Unfortunately there is nothing you can do but wait. The processing times posted online are just estimates and it's not unusual for processing to take longer. There is no way to speed up background checks and the application cannot be finalized until background checks are completed.

Hii. I want to know from where you checked the status of your application. How you get to know that they are checking background information. My husband also applied for open work visa. We also applied on 30 April and still waiting. But we get the interview letter in the month of August. But still after the interview we didn’t get any confirmation mail.

Have you applied online or offline? If you have applied your case online then you can log in into your online account on cic website and from there you can check the status of your husband file. But if have applied paper-based file then you can't check what's going on in your application, this is the drawback of paper-based filing.

But don't worry you will receive a reply from the embassy within 15-20 days after the interview. Hope for the best.

My husband applied offline. He was called for interview on 7 August and the officer said that you will get the confirmation mail till 12 August. Now it has been more than five weeks and no reply from the embassy. I even can’t check the status of the application. We just get a biometric valid letter. We also mailed them but still no reply. Can you help me in this case.

Hmmm.. Basically, I don't know how to take the follow up in the offline files. If have applied from the agent then you can request them to do something.
