Living in Ottawa and working for Quebec company?

Hi,
I'm wondering whether i would be able to apply for PR via express entry. I have stayed and worked in Quebec for over a year. I will be working remotely for my quebec employer while in Ottawa. Will i fit in express entry? or will this cause any trouble?

Hey,
I still work for the same company. but since its a MNC that has branches across Canada, I got a transfer to Ottawa. and I applied for PR from here. It's in progress
so yeah, I applied for extress entry via CEC

Are you a contract employee by any chance? If so, you can still work from Ontario and apply for PR while stating the change in place of duty

I have a permanent work. I am not sure if I still work remotely in Quebec, would they feel that I might want to go back and refuse me?

no, you cannot do that if you're a permanent employee in Quebec and they don't have office locations elsewhere. unfortunate

EMPLOYMENT LOCATION and RESIDENCY are completely different things!
There are people who work for a company in the US but are Canadian residents!!! There are people who have full time jobs in Alberta but they are considered Vancouver residents!!!
Please stop spreading false information!!!
If you are already a resident of Ottawa and your employment location is in Montreal you are still considered an Ontario resident and IRCC will treat your file as if you are already living in Ontario. I have colleges who work in Montreal but pay taxes to Ontario!
I am in the same situation myself! I have residency in Ottawa and my work is in Montreal! Guess what? I already got my PR and landed... Even when I applied for OHIP they said you can live here and work anywhere in Canada

There are people who work for a company in the US but are Canadian residents!!! There are people who have full time jobs in Alberta but they are considered Vancouver residents!!!

If you are already a resident of Ottawa and your employment location is in Montreal you are still considered an Ontario resident and IRCC will treat your file as if you are already living in Ontario. I have colleges who work in Montreal but pay taxes to Ontario!
I am in the same situation myself! I have residency in Ottawa and my work is in Montreal! Guess what? I already got my PR and landed... Even when I applied for OHIP they said you can live here and work anywhere in Canada

Did you not read the post above? He was talking about "working from home". Like his official place of duty is in Quebec.

Dude, did you read my post? there is no problem if your work location is somewhere else than your RESIDENCY... As long as you are a resident of Ontario and you claim you are applying to become PR in Ontario you can work for any company anywhere in the world including Quebec.

I'm glad you mentioned it. Cause I was legit told otherwise, when I consulted an immigration lawyer. I had to go through loops to get my job transferred to one of the Ontario offices. Hope this clarifies for anyone who's in a similar situation.

It is tough to say your employment in Quebec it may cause issue for express entry. Not as simple as just your residency status in Canada. If there is a possibility to being employed and paid out of an office not in Quebec I would do it.

I am in a similar situation wherein my work permit location is Montreal,QC but since I am not a native French speaker, I don't have plans to settle down in Quebec. Do you happen to know what questions did IRCC ask you in order for you to show your intent to live outside Quebec ( i assume that since you already lived outside QC, that might have sufficed ?). Even if my work permit location is Montreal, should I be entering into a different province, since I anyways plan to live outside Quebec ?

I am in the same situation rented an apartment effective July 1st. employer provided a letter stating that I will be working remote (which am doing already) from Ontario. but employer says my pay stubs stays the same (Quebec) and said I can file taxes as Ontario resident later - they don't change since we don't have any company in Ontario.

I am confused a bit on that, I was in states quite a while it's very different there - employer can run payroll as per our residential address.

So I got two explanations in mind to include in LOE
1. future lease in Ontario and applying for jobs in non Quebec and resign after PR approval , and french.
2. future lease in Ontario and working remote for Quebec company. attaching proofs and employer letter stating ON residence.

what do you guys think ? which one would be better ? need to submit docs in a week. invitation about to expire.
