Swept away at last. We submitted what we thought were perfectly prepared applications of January 17, 2019. We had hired a consultancy to review our documents and represent us. Resigned from my then job and took up a new job in a new country after this. I was hoping to resign while in probation and move to Canada for good in a few months. But destiny had different plans.
We never called IRCC. Raised a CSE after the much hyped “6 months” were over and were told that additional verifications are under way. Also, had mailed Ralph around the same time and was told that Criminality is cleared, rest nothing had started. All this made us anxious and we ordered GCMS. Few weeks later, PPR email beat the GCMS notes.
We were sort of kicked out of the United States in July 2017 for no real reason (
well my H1 amendment was randomly denied after a buffoon took charge in the Oval Office) after ~5 years of glory. We had invested our everything in building a future in the USofA. At 4 am on July 14, 2017, me and my wife along with our 3 year old daughter were going hotel to hotel in Mumbai’s Andheri looking for a shelter in the rainy season and to rest after 24 hours of airplane on us. I had 9 large suitcases and cabin bags. Another 10 boxes were on a ship only to arrive largely damaged a month later. We braved it, moved into a hotel, then to a distant acquaintance’s apartment, then to a night in the train, then to a fungus infected guest house over the next one month to finally find solace in Bangalore, India in an apartment owned by an ISRO director. He told us that god will shower his love on us in his apartment.
6 months later, I had a long term Swedish work permit from my employer for my then current project, an offer to return to the US to lead a major account, an offer from a top bank in the UAE and an ITA for applying for Canadian Permanent Residency. We had made our choice. We were going to contribute to the society that is welcoming us with open arms.
The long wait after the AoR did play on our nerves a bit but one thing was always clear to us that it’s going to be Canada. The forums and WhatsApp groups gave equal amount of anxiety and comfort. But I reckon that they can be helpful for applicants preparing documentation on their own.
Many thanks to everyone for sticking around and supporting. Special mentions to
@PrasadK @rushi.gada.
I pray and I am super confident that all of you will be swept away soon.
All the very best friends!
Will get started with the planning now. Time to go and live the next chapter of our lives to the fullest
Signing off for now
