Work Permit Validity

Hi,
I'm currently in work permit (not open work permit) visa and working in Canada for the last one year. I have my family along with dependent visitor visa.
My work permit is valid till Dec 2020. Due to some reason, my job with the employer is going to end and i will lose my job by end of next month Oct 2019.

As my work permit is valid till Dec 2020, am i allowed to stay in Canada along with my dependents without the job? I'm able to manage myself financially.

Yes, you can stay without working.

Thanks for the response. In the similar topic, I may possibly get an employment in US location with my current US Visa, will having my dependents in Canada till the validity of their visitor record Dec 2020 and i'm visiting Canada occasionally (with valid work permit visa) from US will be of any issue.

It could. CBSA may not like that your family is living in Canada as visitors when you are no longer living there and that you are using your status to visito them. This may cause problems for you trying to enter Canada.

Also note that as you will not be living in Canada and your family are simply visitors, they will no longer qualify for provincial health coverage and any school-age children will no longer be allowed to study for free.
