Hello! As my user name suggests, I'm a little confused. I've heard very different things about the documents you can use to prove your competency in English or French, and I'm not sure what the truth is at this point. You see, I'm attending a Canadian university, in my final year. I have been told by an ICCRC certified lawyer/consultant that I can absolutely use transcripts from a program I haven't finished yet as proof that I speak English. I have also seen this confirmed by the instruction guide for the Citizenship application itself,
part 15. a. i.:
"Examples of the types of language evidence that can be submitted include:
You attended or are currently attending a secondary or post-secondary education program in English or French, either in Canada or abroad, including:
To add still further confusion to this, today I've spoken with an IRCC help line agent who initially agreed with the help centre, stating that I couldn't use in progress transcripts. After a period on hold, she did eventually come back and correct herself, stating that I was correct in thinking I could use transcripts from an institution I'm still attending.
Essentially, I don't really know what information is actually correct now. Does anyone here know what's up? Anyone finding themselves in a similar situation? Any help would be hugely appreciated.
