I posted about this a little while back and just thought I would update regarding entering under Dual Intent.

We were successful at the border (arrived via Vancouver International airport). The only question they asked the PA was "how do you intend to support yourself financially for the next 6 months" and he responded "with my savings" ...the border agent inquired about how much the PA had saved and he said approximately $28,000, then was let through with no other questions and no need to provide proof of funds. Was about a 20 second conversation.

Seems like different border agents will ask different things. We were not asked for any supporting documentation about our application for his PR, didn't need to provide any proof of return flights (which we had NOT booked but were prepared to if they said it was necessary).

Now to wait and hope that the PR comes through in the next 6 months! (We have about 5 months to go until we hit the 12 month mark).
My PR card came 2 weeks after landing. You should go to get your SIN now as well :)

I got ADR ... should that be something to worry about?
Probably not. We got one wanting proof I was going to be living in Canada once the application was approved. Just someone wanting more clarification on some point or another. (I sent them copies of my utilities bill from the Nova Scotia house and the tax bill, they had no problems).

hi all,

i applied for family sponsorship on Feb 2019 for PA outside canada,

on 1st april received documents that i am approved as sponsor, and few days later received medicals for wife and kids,

every time i call, they say waiting for background check to complete.

no updates ever since

i ordered GCMS notes, and found that Biometrics fees request was sent on March 27 ,2019,

i contact IRCC today,

answered by RUDE agent, who said i am not a magician to know why you didnt receive the biometrics ?

i tried to explain, that on the same email, i got all correspondence except that one, and i called many times, to ask why not recieving biometrics like other applicants,?

why the other agents didnt read on the system that Biometric fees request was sent to you,but it only showed on GCMS?!

bottom line, agent said she will send request to the visa office to resend the biometric fees request again,

will this delay the process even further?

is there a way to complain about the missing biometrics fees and no one notice it until i saw it on GCMS..!!,

how long does it take to get the biometric instructions after making the payments?

where to send the fees receipt?

-------------------------------

on another subject,

i read on the GCMS, note of "CASE HELD AS PER BACK OFFICE PROGRAM ".....?

what that means?

why the case was held?

i wanted to ask the agent but her repulsive attitude didnt help.

thanks

Did you send them an email to follow up? I did once it was overdue and I got it sent the next morning.
I did twice and still no response. This is getting really frustrated. WHen i called CIC they said they couldn't provide any information as the file is not in Canada

the VO had it for over 6 months and nothing .... not sure if thats a good thing or not. You can get transferred and PR right away.

Did you order the notes on your account? Has your background check started?

Notes : Yes , BGC is started since a while... (security wasn't started when i've called... nor eligiblity but criminality yes , and passed) i'm still wondering why is that long ....

but nothing to signal in notes, application been promoted but since then....nothing

medical and biometric are passed from a long way too.

Just waiting this transfer to prepare CSQ request for provincial.
