I contacted my MP and in 2 weeks they replied back saying this is the response from the IRCC:

“Thank you for contacting the Information Centre for Members of Parliament and Senators.

We have verified the information you provided on behalf of your constituent.

We can provide you with the following details about the status of application for a Citizenship Adult Grant for “ _me__”:

  • The application was received at the Case Processing Centre in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on June 11, 2018.
  • We recommend that the applicant verifies the e-Client Application Status (e-CAS) online tool regularly to see when a new notice is sent to them.
  • The criminality verifications are currently valid.
  • The security verifications are currently valid.
  • The responsible office is currently reviewing the application and the next step would be the citizenship test.”
Probably doesn’t help the application in any way but at least I got a reply (unlike the IRCC’s webform) and I know that the criminality and security verifications are valid.

Hoping to hear from them soon!

Good luck everyone.

^^^Hello to people asking about how to contact MP. First, you can google the MP's address and phone number in your area. Try to give them a call and tell them your situation. They'll tell you how to start. When I did that, they told me to go to the MP's local office (They have office in your area and office in Ottawa). They told me that I need to sign the consent allowing them to access my records. 2 weeks after going there, I got a respond from CIC.

I contacted MP 13 months after I sent my application. I sent my application March 2018, contacted MP in April 2019, Took my test in July and taking my Oath next month.

Goodluck everyone!

In the email I wrote that I am contacting them in regards to my Grant of Citizenship Application and that I applied in June of last year. The processing time as mentioned on the Citizenship and Immigration website is 12 months. I have contacted CIC to followup via webform but never heard back so was hoping they can contact them on my behalf.

They'll take some time before they reply, a week to two, sometimes more depending on their current workload. MPs may or may not able to help, it all depends on the reason for the delay of your application. There is no harm following up with them nonetheless.

Tip: You could also call the MP's office directly, it's faster to move your request like that than waiting for an email response.

Thank you. They actually did reply if you read the original post. Took them 2 weeks which is great. Feels good to hear something in regards to my application lol.
