Hello,

I'm seeking for advice or suggestions.

My citizenship application was received by CIC on 26th October (almost 1 year ago).

I can see that there is an oath ceremony scheduled in Quebec City on 18th September, which until the current date I wasn't invited.

The real issue is that my pregnant wife was diagnosticated with this given illness and our family doctor told us that it usually takes 12+ months to see the specialist doctor in Quebec City.

Since it can be dangerous for mommy and baby we decided to go treat this illness in our home country (private doctor, so it will be really faster).

1 - Would it help if I inform CIC about this situation to see if they can fit us on the 18th September ceremony?
2 - If they can't do that, what happens if we get invited to take the oath during her post-operation since she won't be able to take a flight during a few months?

Thanks in advance.

Option 1 is preferable

This what official website says:
What if I cannot attend my appointment with IRCC? Can I reschedule it?
Yes. If you are not available on the date and time of your appointment, write us a letter of explanation. Send this letter to the IRCC office that scheduled your original appointment. You can send this letter by mail, or online, using this Web form. We will reschedule your appointment on a different date.

If you do not attend your appointment, you must contact us within a certain amount of time. The notice we sent you inviting you to the appointment will tell you when you must contact us. Use this Web form and tell us why you missed your appointment. If you do not contact us in time, we will close your application. You will have to apply again and pay the required fees.

1 - Unfortunately I don't think there's any chance IRCC will move up your wife's ceremony. However you can certainly ask.
2 - If she is invited while she is out of Canada, then you will have to let IRCC know that she cannot attend and why. The ceremony will then be rescheduled. If she misses the second scheduled ceremony as well - she will need to restart the citizenship application process from scratch.
