As per Russ6970 the offer is a scam there is no job and even the website hotelcitigroupplace.com as been cloned from another hotel site , http://racquetclubhotel.co.uk/ ,with just the words adjusted slightly .

These people just prey on potential immigrants desperation to get to Canada so much that they don’t even bother to do a proper job when they clone a website. The ‘hotelciti ‘ website for example has a recruitment link still pointing to the genuine UK hotel site.

I particularly like the description of the restaurant and bar as being a Victorian gem of a building from 1857 ! Might be true for the genuine location but not the fake one. The Citi group place building was built in 1983.

I just received a job offer from Walmart Live Better Company. Actually I applied through employment agency, provided them with scanned copy of my family passport, birth certificates (me, my husband and my daughter), me and my husband CVs, and also bank statement. I've already transferred some amount for the service fee, with the total US$ 350. After a week or so, I received this job offer.
The offer is too good to be true. But I suspected that it's a bit fishy due to:
1. The HR Director is same as the HR Director of Hotel Citi Group Place CA, John Christopher
2. They required me to sign, scan and send the offer back within four working days. However, they also required me to pay US$2,975 for the employment insurance that it will be reimbursed after joining Walmart.
3. The payment to be transferred to the personal account, who they said as their arbitrator. The amount will be in US$ not CA$
4. The letter head written Walmart Contact Address: 901 64 Avenue NE, Calgary, Alberta – AB T2E 9B7, Canada Contact mail address: Walmartlivebetter.ca@outlook.com. For such big company like Walmart why using outlook? Besides there is no phone no?
Please advise me if this is a scam or not. Thank you very much.

The problem now that they already have my documentation details. I should know better and apply through the official/registered employment agencies instead. Do you think should I use the registered agencies or to appy directly to the Canadian website? And should I apply for work or immigration?

Just to clarify here for anyone reading that a company like WALMART would never likely recruit anyone from out Canada or even the US given they have plenty of candidates resident in either country available to work in their supermarkets or even in their back office

You seem very intelligent and with logic I think you have the answer to this question yourself. It is a scam, no way Walmart would pay for you, your husband, and child to fly to Canada and on top of that pay for your accommodation. They can easily find workers to work for them for minimum salary locally, without providing them with housing or airfare....so why would they for you?
Also why would you have to pay employment insurance....makes no sense.
