Work History for Express Entry

Hi,

While filling up my form for Express Entry, I got stuck in the work history section. I am working for the same employer since NOV'14 but have changed locations from India to Canada. The company is known by a different name in Canada. Do I have to split my details in work history based on locations and if so do I have to get 2 different Letters of Reference or a single LOR will be sufficient?
I have another question: My employer is based in Ontario but I am at the client location in Quebec, does this impact my application? Will I have to provide Letters of Explanations for each case after I get an ITA?

Please help.

If the Indian and Canadian companies are two seperate legal entities and have been on different payrolls, you will need to provide two reference letters.

If you have been on the same payroll system, then, only one reference letter.

Also, under express entry, you pledge that you do not intend to work or live in Quebec.

Thanks so much for your reply. I have this question: I have gained my 1 year work experience while working in Quebec. Does that mean I am not eligible to apply under CEC or just my intention of NOT living in Quebec will be sufficient?

Are you still in Quebec?

You should definitely explain and provide any evidence you can get that your employer is based in Ontario and that you intend to live anywhere but Quebec. I'm not sure how you would do that if you're still working in Quebec though.

Did you have any ties in Ontario or you were assigned to work in Quebec from the start?

Quebec is where my client is located but my employer's in Ontario. My offer letter and my bank statements would be able to prove that. Offer letter has the letterhead of my employer based in Ontario and I receive my pay-checks by the name of my employer and not my client. Let me know if this works?

You will have to mention Quebec in the Address History, so they will know you are staying there.

Thanks a ton!! yea I will surely do that. Will a mention of the client location help in the reference letter I obtain from my employer or this will create further doubts in their mind? Please suggest

Experience gained in Quebec, would make you eligible under CEC, as it is part of Canada, but under, express entry, you also undertake that once you get your PR, you will not reside or work in Quebec. If you want to work and live in Quebec, you have to apply through CSQ.

It might or might not raise an issue if you are already in Quebec and applying through Express Entry. Considering your case is a bit complex, I would suggest you to seek consultation from a licensed immigration consultant/lawyer on the next steps. $60 for a 20-30 min consultation on this is a better decision than getting rejected in future.

Thanks for the information!! I am getting a bit worried by reading different articles now, do you have any idea what should I do to assure CIC that I intend to live in ON and not QC?
Though in the extension of my Work Permit I have requested for a change of location from QC to ON, if my WP arrives with the location mentioned as ON, will that be enough to assure CIC that once I get my PR I will leave Quebec and settle in ON or
should I lease an apartment in ON in my name and leave QC now because I have the option of working remotely?

Anyone would get worried by reading contradicting articles. That is why I suggested you to contact a "licensed" immigration consultant or an attorney for the next steps.
