Hi Guys,

Need some help understanding this situation. I ordered my GCMS notes on 08th July and received them on 21st August. As per my notes (as far as I could understand them), my file was last updated in March. According to them, my eligibility and security have not yet started and criminality and medicals are passed. My last notes read - Documents set for review - client information...etc.

However, as per my last call with the CIC agent on 10th/11th July 2019, I was told that my eligibility was recommended passed.

What does this actually mean? Should I call CIC to check about it? My AoR is January 03rd. I am closer to completing 8 months soon.

yes you should asap, the notes are generated on 8th july , thus you may have stale info in the notes , if eligibility is recommended pass , the agent will confirm , also if they do not confrim raise a webform or another notes asap. This will make the file move at leasr. I am Jan 4 AOR and still waiting this i can understand your pain, good luck

HI All,

I got my PPR e-mail on 16th aug and submitted my passport on the same day. Today i got the e-mail from High commission station my passport is damaged and asked me to submit new passport.

So my question are
1. How many days will I have to submit my new passport.
2. I didn't get me old passport back, so can i issue the new passport with photo copy of the old one.
3.My new passport will have new passport number, then do i need to update to IRCC for this?

Thanks for replying. Actually my Criminality and Security are cleared and the agent told me that eligibility is in the final review so I was just wondering how long the delay can be...

Should be another month i feel..can be earlier...

Should we worry if federal election in Canada will impact our application? Will there be any chance for the new government to hold our applications which is delayed? I know it is a hypothetical question, but have anyone read any news related to it?

I really don't think so...we are far off in the application process...we are almost nearing the end..i personally don't feel that this will affect us..

I had the same msg today, and tried +16139444000 and it work and got agent, she was very nice, but finally nothing new to know, criminalty passed, and Background checks and security not yet initiated.

2. Ask them i.e. IRCC first or contact VFS where you submitted your passport, I guess it might be in the way back. Note if you have damaged old passport with you , it will make the process to apply easy n quicker. And if you are from India.. you can opt for Tatkal passport service.
3. Contact High Commission with your details of passport submission like receipt no., etc. they would definitely be able to tell you the status of your old passport like whether it is in transit or otherwise when they are going to send it back.
Then you can plan accordingly so first thing first.. call IRCC N ASK THESE SAME 3 QUESTIONS TO THE CALL CENTRE AGENT. They would be the best to advise you about what to do.

Thank you for the help! I got the VFS e-mail that my file is ready to collect, So most probably i might have got my passport back, which i am going to collect tomorrow.

I tired calling canda high commision Delhi, but not able to get through. I sent back the e-mail to the E-mail id i got the the mail in the morning though haven't heard back anything yet.

I have booked my appointment for tatkal passport, hopefully if i get my passport tomorrow then will submit all required document to PKS by day after tomorrow.
