URGENT NEED HELP ASAP

Hi there,
I applied for a student visa a couple of months ago and I got it, but now I changed my major at the same university and I have been told that I need to make amendments to my student visa since I applied on the basis of my previous major. Is this true or will it be okay if i travel on the current visa? If i have to notify CIC, how can I do it? I need to know this ASAP because my flight is tomorrow.

By the university advisor. She told me to contact the international student support, but its closes right now so I'm trying to figure this out on my own.

Post secondary study permit are not dependent on institution or on program of study so you can study anywhere in Canada and anything without changing the permit.

1. Not quite accurate. From CIC

You need to contact us if you:

• are a post-secondary student changing schools
• need to change conditions on your study permit or
• have a co-op work permit and you’ve changed post-secondary schools to another co-op program

As long as the OP is still studying at the same school, s/he doesn't have to inform CIC/IRCC
