Hello!
I'm from Honduras (Central America) and I am currently interested in visiting a good friend of mine in quebec.
He is inviting to spend the holidays on December with him for 14 days.

I have been investigating about this cover letter where one explains their intentions for visiting Canada and can be a great asset for getting the tourist Visa approved.

I would like guidance in what specific information should I include in that cover letter and examples on how to write it.

Thank you very much in advance, I look forward traveling to this beautiful country soon!

If you ask me, the only cover letters I did on my application were to summarize and itemize a complicated PDF requirement, like travel history.

The best way to get an approval is to have ample evidence of a good profile.

Thanks a lot! I was reading them both, but situations are quite different.
In my case this is my first time applying for a tourist Canadian visa.

I have not been denied yet nor even started the process because I want to make things right.

I currently have been only working for 3 years and with a high position at a international well recognized company, along with my good standing with bank funds and statements.

I do not own tho any property or have loans, also not married and no children.
I of course only intend to visit Canada for no more than 2 weeks, and since I dont have more documentation other than my work/bank/invitation letter and all the documents to support this, I wanted to know how to write this letter and convince the embassy officer I truly just want to enjoy a few days and come back to my country.

Indeed, the person who is assisting me with the application never mentioned a cover letter being necessary, but I would like to send one. Could that be a problem if it's not a requirement?

It is not required but it is your way to communicate to the visa officer and say what you want to say. The link I gave you is an idea on how other people made their cover letters. Mine was just straight forward saying that I'm going to meet my sister from Indiana in Canada and we plan to go to Banff. I also mentioned that I want to see how summer is as I often visit Canada during autumn. That simple.

So the cover letter is up to you on how you structure it. Primarily explain why you plan to visit Canada. What is your main purpose? If you are not submitting some documents, you should explain why are you not submitting that document and explain if you are providing any alternative document. Lastly inject your intentions to return to your home country, you should make the visa officer believe that you will be back to your home country within the correct time. Example " I assure you that I will not remain in Canada beyond the period of my authorized stay."

Definitely this has been so helpful for me and thank you for taking the time of answering.
Like you said, it'll be all about being direct and give all the necessary details and documents.

I really hope this goes well and I can get my Visa approved.
Thank you all for your kind help.

I'll probably upload here my cover letter before sending it Haha and have your guys opinion.
