greetings, i have been refused a study visa on grounds of travel history and purpose of visit. Meanwhile i have never travelled before and i have actually been accepted in a designated learning institution and even paid the first instalment of the fees. What do i need to proof when reapplying and what are my chances of haveing a visa?. Thanks for understanding and hoping to hear from you soon.

Not having a travel history is why travel history is an issue. You have never travelled before and now want to move to another country. That isn’t the big issue. Purpose of visit has to do with your intentions. Do you appear to be a genuine student or only seeking immigration? Being enrolled in a school in Canada doesn’t guarantee a work permit. I would speak to your school about deferring admission and the order the CAIPS notes to get more information on why you were denied.

Looks like you didn't demonstrate strong enough proof of funds. How much money did you show and how?

Hello,

My younger brother applied for a study permit but got refused on 216(1) ground, pretty much the letter they sent him shows that they are not sure he’ll go back to Nigeria when he’s done.
I’m just kinda confused because I am an international student graduating next year, my brother has visited me twice and never overstayed. We were advised by someone that was in this situation to appeal but we don’t know how long it’s going to take, or just reapply and hope for the best. Do you have any advice?
