Hi all,

I am from Pakistan and want to go Canada on study visa for Master in Computer Science. I want to tell you that I have Hepatitis B but after successful treatment my PCR result is now Not Detected but in Hepatitis B Screening Test it is still detected that I have Hepatitis B. Before going to take medical exam, should I inform to Canadian recommended laboratory that I have Hepatitis B, so they can do PCR Test directly rather than doing screening test? If I will not inform them about my disease, will they ask me to go through PCR test right after screening test? or they will disqualify me for Canadian Visa?

Thank you,

Hello, Did you get your visa at that time? actually, my case is similar to yours. please let me know

They don't test for Hepatitis B. They check for HIV, Syphilis and TB with a blood test, X-ray and urine test.

1. Wrong

Screening and Testing
During the medical history-taking and physical examination, the PP is expected to
be vigilant for the presence of a risk of hepatitis / liver diseases such as hepatitis B
or C or liver cirrhosis.

How would the physician find out Hepatitis B while physically examing the candidate? unless the candidate informs the physician about the disease himself.

I just logged in my hopital medical ID and there are all the tests that they took, so hepatitis B was one of them. That is why I am worrying :(

Tests they took in my case, I also have two tattoos on my body

1. Hepatitis B Surface Antigen, Serum
2. HCV IgG, Serum
3. Creatinine, Serum
4. VDRL/RPR
5. HIV Test ( I and II ), Serum
6. Urine Dipstix Test
7. X-Ray Chest PA/AP
