Study Permit with Spouse Open Work Permit Dilemma

Hello Guys:

I am from Chile and I have recently received an acceptance letter from Simon Fraser University to start a Master´s degree Program in September this year (32 months duration).
I am married and I don´t want to go alone to Canada, so my wife wants to apply for an Open Work Permit.

I wonder if applying online for both permits (study permit and open work) it´s a good idea, because someone told me that other people think it´s better that I receive my study permit first, and then, that my wife should apply for her Open Work Permit while she is an Canada, as a tourist.

My Question is: Is it really a bad Idea applying for both permits Online simultaneously?

Woww.. Finally after all these months, I found some one like me. Same to same dilemma like yours Mr. GuillermoSCM. But I went ahead and applied for Study permit and Open work permit at the same time on March 8th. I got into Dalhousie University. My wife will be accompanying me. Our Visa status is still processing. Will update you once I know the result. +919000249259

Hey.. I just got my study permit. Applied on March 8th. Approved today. Memorial University. 80.2% 7.0 3+ Exp. All the best. Waiting for SWOP.

Purpose: To Accompany my spouse for duration of his study in Canada.

Hello! I think mine is a complicated set up but was approved . I applied for SP while husband applied for OWP + our son applied for TRV all in one included in my application.

It is better to apply TRV or study visa for children age5,8.

Did you receive them both on the same day? I was approved for my SP on Friday, but my spouses OWP is still processing. I really don't want to leave without him.

I had the same problem. medical request was late for my husband and then OWP was one week late as I remember. But still we travelled together
