Dear members, seeking your kind suggestion on something. My parents received the request for police clearance and medical. Their country of origin is Bangladesh. Getting the Bangladeshi PCC is not a problem and it’s already in process. Problem is, they also travelled to USA a number of times and their accumulated stay is more than 6 months. However they never stayed 6 months in a row, it was 1-2 months max. The letter from SGVO didn’t mention whether the 6 months stay need to be in a row or not. My parents submitted the fingerprints to FBI and my mom got the clearance. Fingerprint of my dad got rejected because of insufficient quality. My dad now has to send his fingerprints again to FBI. This will surely delay the whole process and for sure they won’t be able to send the reports within the 30 days as per SGVO mail. What is the right thing to do at the moment? I am planning to send an email to SGVO as well as submit an explanation for delay through the IRCC webform. I’m also confused about one thing - I received contradicting responses regarding whether to submit a FBI report for stay less than 6 months in a row. It was not clear from the SGVO letter either. If the FBI part is not needed, then life becomes much easier. Is there anyone with similar situation as my parents? Any suggestion would be really appreciated. Thanks!
FBI clereance will be required as long as cumulative stay is 6 months or more. Better to get it done now. Please see on one of my earlier posts about how to get it. If all in order then it is a matter of 2 days where the certificate is in hand.

Hi,
I want to sponsor my Mom and Dad.Need one clarification on family size.
My Husband is divorcee and have 2 children from earlier marriage but they do not live with us. We have 2 children,So how family size is calculated if he is the primary sponsor.
Does the family size would be less if i apply independently without co-signer?

Question: Do we see change in status after submitting the requested documents? Its been a week I have submitted requested documents and still in the status it says "we need additional documents"

Hi all,

It has been over one year since I filed my mother's PR. There has been no update after her file was transferred to New Delhi. Should I contact CIC and request for an update?

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Application Received Date (AOR): May 25, 2018.
Medical Request IME: February 6, 2019
Police Certificate Request: February 6, 2019
(Both Submitted on 1st March 2019)
File transferred to New Delhi: July 10, 2019

Thanks

1) He cannot be the primary sponsor for your parents. He can only be the co-signer
2) If he is a co-signer, all his children (previous marriage or current or children not from a marraige) are counted toward family size
3) If he is NOT a co-signer, I believe your family size for calculating the income can be reduced to 6 (you, spouse, 2 children and your parents).

more experience members, please commend on step-children towards family size. I am not 100% sure if they do or do not count.

I notice Pakistani applicants from the first round are getting PPRs now.

Keep patience. You're not the only one from 2nd round waiting for a feedback from the London VO.
Based on the statistics, I'm not expecting anything sooner than December/January to hear from them.

My mom did her medicals last week, everything was fine with the exception of her blood pressure reading, she went back today and the blood pressure reading was 185/90. My question is the doctor said it was high, would this not make her pass her medical exam?

It is up to the medical doctors at the Visa office to decide.

if they don't like the results they can ask for further tests.
