Hello everybody, I have few queries related with Canadian tourist visa. I hope you people will definitely help me out with them. My profile and queries are as follows:-

1. My sister is in Canada as an International Student and she is graduating next year (convocation in June 2020).

2. I am doing regular government job in India from last 3.5years and my DOB is 17.06.1995. I am unmarried and living here with my mother (she is also an government servant here from last 20years) and my father expired in 2012. So, we are only two family members living here in India.

3. I have an 5year old Fixed deposit worth INR 30 lacs on my name and approximately INR 20 lacs Fixed Deposit on joint basis with my sister who is in Canada.

4. Apart from above mentioned funds, I have residential and agricultural property worth 1 crores also.

5. I am planning to file my tourist visa application alongwith my mother for canada next year to attend my sisters Convocation.

6. But various consultants suggested me to file my visa application without my mother and on the ground of “ feeling homesick”. Is it right or not ?

7. We both have no travel history.

8. Can I hire a consultant outside India ??

Yes you can hire one from Canada. If you want I can suggest you one. Also it’s your sister convocation a family dream. Mom and you both can get visa it’s a solid ground. All they want to see is your home ties and you have sold proof for that.
Do hire a consultant and take their view specially from outside India coz they can tell you real and exact scenario as compared to locals.

Part of the requirement is to convince the visitor officer that you have ties—such as a job, home, financial assets or family—that will take you back to your home country
* Being Single is a red flag as you do not have a family of your own.
* I've read from some posts here that a Fixed Deposit is not considered as an asset. Normally what the visa officer requires is a bank statement for the past 6 months, as they want to see if you have a steady source of income.
* As much as possible present all your assets.
5. I am planning to file my tourist visa application along with my mother for canada next year to attend my sisters Convocation.
6. But various consultants suggested me to file my visa application without my mother and on the ground of “ feeling homesick”. Is it right or not ?
A bit lame for "homesick". The only issue is you and your mom plans of going to Canada together. To think that you are only 3 in the family (sis, you, mom). The visa officer might assume that you and your mom might not leave Canada.Since you guys will be complete when you and your mom goes there. I'm not really sure if advisable that you and your mom apply separately.
There are cases like this where in the parents applies with a child. Both parents get the visa and the child get rejected. Worst all applicants are denied a visa.
7. We both have no travel history.
This is a ground for refusal. The visa officer checks this as they want to know is the applicant is financially capable to travel and haven't overstayed in the country he/she visited. Although in some cases the approved applicants without travel history provided that the applicant has a valid purpose, strong ties (work, family, assets) and is financially capable to travel.
8. Can I hire a consultant outside India ??
You can if you want to. They cannot assure you you'll get an approval. You can research and read the forums to get tips. The key is you need to prove to the visa officer that you have valid purpose, strong ties (work, family, assets) and is financially capable to travel.

You dont need any consultant for your TRV application. The application process is simple and straightforward. Follow the checklist for the documents required and use the paper based application route. This paper based application gives you the opportunity to add additional documents that you feel may give more credibility. My parents were here with my younger sister for my convocation this June. They too had no travel history. The list of some of the documents that they attached are as follows:
Documents (student)
1) Invitation letter written by me.
2) Convocation letter issued by the university.
3) Copy of my passport, visa, study and work permit, rent agreement, Student ID.
Documents(Visitor)
1) Letter of Purpose of visit addressed to the VO.
2) 6 months bank statement
3) Statement of funds available.
4) Property Documents
5) Fathers business documents like registration certificate, Current account statement for 6 months
6) 3 years ITR both parents
7) Sisters college ID
They were issued a 10 year multiple entry visa and attended my convocation and returned.to India.
Hope this helps.
