Is it mandatory to submit the passport to VFS for visa stamping from the country of residence?

Hi All,

I have a query regarding the passport submission to VFS after getting COPR.

I had applied for Canada's PR via Express Entry from India in the month of February 2019.Today (24th Aug), I got the COPR email from CIC.

I got the opportunity to work on my company's US office so I came to the states on April 20 on L1 work visa. Now, I am not sure how should I send my passport to VFS India .Who can confirm this ?

Do I really need to send my passport to vfs India or I can directly send my passport to Canada for visa stamping.

Can you call vfs office, they will tell you what to do

It seems folks have said in past that they just approached nearby vac office and they accepted passport there. But best to give a call first.
