Dear All,
I just came to know about this forum and how helpful it can be. I am quite amazed by it. So I am writing this to get some advice from you guys.
I got invitation to apply on 21st dec,2018 and i applied my file on 21st january,2019. My medical passed on 22nd january 2019. That was my last update.
Today is 23 august,2019 and there is no update. It still shows we are reviewing your eligibility same as of january 21.I called them few days back and the agent said he will pass on he message to the officer.
And today when i called again, the another agent said the officer needs more time to evaluate and there is no update. It still under review. Everything is left from pcc to background. They also said it seems we dont need extra doc right now.
So what does this mean ? Since 7 months they havent started the file?
Any advice or suggestions will be appreciated.
Please guys i really need it as i am getting tensed.

My file is at Montreal but no progress.
AOR : 1st Feb, 2019
Category : CEC Inland
Criminality : In Progress
Security : Not Started
Eligibility : Not Started
Reminder sent by an agent on 21st August to which they replied saying Case Officer will be assigned soon for my application.
So in short they are saying its still in progress but said looks positive and no review or red flags.
I will hear from them soon.
Hope we all get PPR soon!

How many PPR emails are supposed to come for a an application with Primary + Spouse + toddler?
I (primary applicant) got the PPR request with my name & UCI number. There is no mention of my dependents in the PPR. My spouse didn't get any additional PPR in her email either.

There is only one PPR for whole family in the name of primary applicant.
You have to fill that Annex form and send all your and dependents passport along with that.
BTW what was your visa office..?

When you call next time, you may would like to ask them 4 specific questions: what the status of eligibility, criminality, and security is, and where your file's office is. By this, you could get some ideas about what your progress actually is (like how your office is doing in general by reading others' comments, etc). In the meantime, you could order notes as well to get to know the whole picture of your progress.
From my personal experience, my notes show they could give a "recommended pass" for my eligibility and a "passed" for my criminality on the same day. So I guess it's all about the matter of their start time on your application then.
Update on VFS Hyderabad:
After my PPR, I visited the VFS Canada in Zonah Crescent, 3rd Floor, Number 12 Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Direct walk in, no appointment needed. We should carry PPR email print out, Original Passport and 2 Photographs as per Standards mentioned in PPR email. In VFS Canada Hyderabad, you have a photographer available outside in the same building same floor(3rd floor). He takes cash only and gives you 2 photographs as per PR standards in 5 minutes and charges around Rs.150 roughly. He will stamp the photos back side with his studio details. We are supposed write our Name and Date of Birth on the backside of the photos, which the VFS people inside the office will guide you. You will need to fill and sign 2 consent forms (please do carry a pen, I forgot
). The most important thing is VFS will charge Rs.611(CASH ONLY, NO CARD I dint had any cash, had to call my cousin waiting downstairs luckily he had cash) for passport transmission from Hyderabad to New Delhi. After filling out the 2 consent forms and signing it, you will be called for passport submission and we will get one acknowledgement receipt with Air Way Bill (AWB) and VFS Tracking ID in that receipt. This slip is mandatory for collecting our passport back after stamping. These days it takes around 2 weeks for the processing to be complete in New Delhi Visa Office and we will get updates through SMS and Email on each and every step post passport submission.
I always wondered what's this Return Tracker Activated thing ?! Today I have the answer, return tracker activated is nothing but the same VFS Tracking ID will show the shipment details in Blue Dart website, which is the courier service VFS uses for our passport transmission in India. Once our passport is couriered from New Delhi, after few hours or next day the return tracker will be activated i.e., we can search the same VFS Tracking ID under the Ref No in Blue Dart courier website which will show the expected date of delivery etc. Hope this helps.

Atleast it shows your criminal check is pass. But according to agent they are still reviewing my eligibility. Criminality and other stage are the next steps. Is it worrisome that they are still on first stage? Can i mail to someone specific who can expedite it? By calling them i dont get positive reply.
Find a local MP to help you if you are in Canada, or seek Ralph Goodale's office for help if not. You could raise a web from every week (or keep calling), and if you got a lovely agent, he or she may help you send a reminder to your office and this may expedite your application. I saw someone's criminality and the other factor (I got which one) never began but the officer started and passed them like within one day. GL.
Oh, is it. My file is untouched too. AOR Feb 13th. I have requested umpteen times through web form but no progress.
Yesterday, somehow the sweet agent agreed to send a reminder for me. Although, I doubt if they are going to do anything about it, still hope it's from your mouth to God's ears
Hi there @Shammy7... hang in and just have patience... most of us have the similar kind of situation as visa office have overload. You can raise web form, order Gcms notes or even request the agent on call to send a reminder to your visa office. Good luck
