No category of Inventor, however send a mail to immigration minister requesting to consider including "inventor category" in FSW

I've seen a film where genius inventor didn't immigrated because it was dangerous to patent it in his country,
and he couldn't immigrate because he didn't get world acclaim. :-X
Please tell me "can unadmitted genius immigrate?" ::)

He has to get connected with universities or research center, maybe fly there on visit, conduct demo's, then work with interested organizations or companies for AEO.

If you cannot find anything under the NOC 29 that fits your father's job description, read through the link above and see if anything there will fit. As this is such a unique situation it may be worth your while to contact a reputable immigration lawyer for assistance to get started. Such a pity your Dad can't "invent" his own special NOC? I think Mezo's suggestion is very good. Once your father has worked in Canada for the required period, he could then apply for PR. The "cat" in me is curious about your Dad's invention. There is a possibility if we had an idea of the area it is in you might get more constructive suggestions as well. Anyway, I understand how important these things are to keep under wraps. I hope he has been able to patent it. There is a weekly TV programme on CBC call The Dragon's Den. People promote their inventions and ideas on the show in the hope "The Dragons" (all well known Canadian business people) will give them financial support in exchange for a percentage of their profit/company. It is a REALLY long shot, but I don't know if anyone on the production side of that show may be able to give you any guidance??? All the best!

what's an inventor? If someone does it for a living, he/she's employed as a developer, engineer, etc
in this case you apply as a skilled worker under the appropriate NOC code.

If he/she is self-employed/entrepreneur then the same rules applies here as for any other entrepreneur/self-employed/investor...

This is the best suggestion.. My dad did the same thing back in the early 90s. After he got his Ph. D. he contacted Canadian Universities having similar courses and offered to conduct expert lectures.. He was teaching in Calgary for some time then and also in some other countries. I think there was some provision called "Foreign Intellectuals" then. I dont know if its still in effect. It was not for PR though.

I wish he had stayed in Canada since then, I would not have had to go through this procedure to immigrate Haha

Thanks for sharing this experience.

Look, everything happens for a reason. If you reflect on your father Canada life and yours now, dig deeply and you will find the reason.

Cheers

You'll need to look into the Start Up Visa immigration program.
