Hello all/seniors,

I have a question regarding police certifcates for my express entry application. Since I received my ITA few days ago, I have to provide 2 PCCs one for Egypt and other for Malaysia.

1) Egypt: This is my country of birth/nationality but I have left Egypt on 31st of July 2016 and I have been living in Canada since then. When I arrived in canada I requested a pcc from the Egyptian embassy here and it was issue on September 2016. Can i use this PCC (2 yeard old) since I have never been to Egypt since my day of entry to Canada for studying ?

2) Malaysia: I did my bachelors degree in Malaysia back in 2015 and lived there for 4 years. When i reached Canada in 2016 as well I have requested from the Malaysian embassy a certifcate of good conduct and it was issued on July 2016.

Could i use the PCCs which were issued after my date entering Canada and never leaving it ? Even if they are 2 years old and one of them is my country of birth ?

Lastly, do i need PCC for my two yeard in Canada ?

Thanks

you need latest PCC (not older than 6 months), you have if they will make PCC for wrong time frame than you have always option to explain your actual situation in LOE(letter of explanation).

Thanks a lot for your reply. I do not get it sorry , both PCCs just mention "He has no adverse record" with no time frame, only issue date is mentioned. Besides, will i be rejected if used ? Or they will ask me to provide new ones without rejecting my application.

if issue date is older than 6 months than it will not work for you, so it is better to apply for new PCC.

That is misinformation. The guidelines are as follows:

For any other country
For any other country, the police certificate must be issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row.

Some countries put expiry dates on their police certificates. If you have a police certificate that expired, include it. We’ll accept it if:

  • it was issued after the last time you stayed there for 6 months or more in a row
  • it is not for the country where you currently live
An officer may ask for a new one later on.

If it's for the current country of residence, it needs to be issued within six months of submission, provided that it doesn't have an expiry date.

Not OP but if you have old PCCs that were issued after the last time you were in that country, you can use it. I did (1.5 years old at the time of AOR), and was approved without any issue
