You have to have a visitor visa to visit your spouse while your PR application is in process (if you are not from a visa exempt country).

Does it affect my application in anyway if i apply for visit visa too? I just submitted application in july'19. Didn't get AOR yet

No, lots of people do it. It's hard to get because a visitor visa is not meant to come to Canada and stay with your spouse, but it is possible.

I've got through spousal sponsorship, never a visitor visa.
