I am!!! This VO is so dead. We have had no update since August 2018. We got our notes and it says nothing we don't already know. Our rep contacted the VO and they replied saying it is still being processed. really no shit!!

I heard from someone who heard from someone (long story) who heard from someone working at Visa office that every officer has to process X applications per day, but they do much less than X, because they are government employees on a fixed salary and their income doesn't depend on what and how they do their job. So they better have 10 cups of coffee per day than handle a couple of applications. And most of the backlog is happening because of their "productivity", not because the number of applications.
Treat this information as you want, but I think I believe in that. Sighing...
OMG!!

I'm a Canadian citizen and my wife is Russian. We are about 5 months ahead of you. Our application was transferred February 28, but they didn't acknowledge receiving it until May 3. We are just waiting and nothing has been done. It looks like they haven't even looked at the application since they got it because there is a mistake in what we can view online but we have confirmed the information was received, still nobody corrects the mistake. We are expecting November or December before we hear anything. Maybe it will be a bit sooner but nobody knows.
Our application was received June 2018 and sent to Warsaw August 2018 and they did ask us for some documents around that time. We have heard nothing since August 2018!!

For those who likes checking ECAS gazillion times a day: it's only updated once per day :) Save your time and stay calm :) I couldn't locate the exact update time as I haven't got many opportunities, but I'm pretty sure it's between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Eastern time zone, based on what I've seen.
Is it bad to check too many times? Will it slow down your application? Does CIC know each time you check? I was told don't check more than every 2 weeks.

Do not stress, check as much as you want to. It won’t have any impact on your application.

I really feel for you:(
Your case is very unfortunate and unusual.
Wishing you the best!

It's not bad, and they don't care. It's just useless to check a service 10 times a day if it's for sure updated once a day only.

On top of that, if you have a MyCIC (GCKey) account, you'll get an email every time you have an update. So checking ecas multiple times a day during the whole year, when it's actually updated maybe 5-6 times during your whole process - I personally feel it's a waste of time.
But if you do want to do that, you can, of course.

I never checked more than once a day. But started to check only every 2 weeks. We do not have GCKEY. But I'm sure my rep or my husband will get an update about our application via their email.

Is your app complicated in some way? Expecting any red flags on your file? Seems like an awfully long delay...

There were no red flags in our notes. Although my husband need the authorization to return to Canada since he was deported from Canada 3 years ago( He did leave on his own free will)
