Creating a bank account in Canada

Hi,

I am planning to nake a soft landing in Canada for finishing my PR process. I am looking to create a bank account before going back home. So for creating an account do we need to have a PR card in hand or will our passport be enough.

SIN, COPR and passport. although if you do not plan to return soon /or transfer any funds into the account, you should not open one now. it will incur charges once you cross 6 months of opening and not maintaining minimum balance. or its just bad credit history.
