Hi All,

I have received a letter requesting passports to be couriered from CPC Ottawa. However there is now an unexpected change in my circumstances. My spouse is now expecting a child.

Will my application be rejected due to this ?

No but if she is going to give birth outside of Canada you have to inform CIC as, if you don't, you'll have to sponsor the baby afterwards.

Thanks Bobbie, do you mean i would have to sponsor the baby after I land in Canada ? If yes, any clue as to how many months would it take to complete the sponsorship ? Could you suggest what is best ? Most probably she would give birth outside of Canada.

If you haven't landed yet and she is going to give birth before the landing inform CIC as soon as the baby is born and add it to your application. You'll need the baby's documents ready, birth cert, passport etc.
If the baby is born outside of Canada, after landing and you haven't informed CIC you'll have to sponsor. It takes about a year I think but I'm not an expert on family sponsorship.

Thanks Bobbie. Actually we have to submit our passports by Dec 24 along-with 2 photos and any details of change in circumstances.
Do you think its better to disclose this change ? If the tentative birth month is July 2018 and we will be landing only after that, will CIC stamp our passports with a landing date after July 2018 ? Just want to know my options a little better

You can mention it but they can't change the composition of your family before the baby is born. But maybe they will extend your passport submition date or at least instruct you what to do in your situation. Write a Letter of Explanation and attached to your documents.

Hi, I too have a similar situation. I have got my CoPR and now we are expecting.
How do we inform the CIC about the change in circumstance?
Is there an email-id we can send details about this?

Raise an IRCC webform n provide details. It can be done online. Visit cic.gc.ca n search IRCC web form n submit supporting documents
