Landing in Ottawa without appointment - Aug 2019. Is it possible?

Hi all,

Need to complete an in-land appointment to validate COPR. Am currently based in Toronto but the wait time is 6+ weeks.

Does anybody have any recent experience of going to Ottawa for landing without arranging an appointment? If so, can you confirm the dates/times when this is possible and how recently you went? Also, is it ok if we are based in Toronto to go to Ottawa? Where were you coming from?

Otherwise, do people have any recommendations on how to complete PR sooner than the 6 week wait time? Read about flagpolling (e.g. in Niagara) but not keen in case US keeps a record of being denied entry.

Thanks for your help!

I did my landing without appointment at Ottawa office on May 28th. It's 100% still available.
The office is open for walk in landings every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month. Try to go early so you won't stay in the line for too long.

Good luck!

I would probably advice to go the day before so that you can be there in the morning.
You can try your luck and hopefully the.place won't be too crowded around midday or 1pm.
I myself went early in the morning but the place packed up pretty fast by arpund 9 am.

Try calling the CIC help center to ask for their opinion on the optimal time you should get to CIC office in Ottawa.

Tried to do a flag polling today at Niagara. No success.
I am thinking of going to Ottawa. Do you know of any successful cases for those who don't live in Ottawa?
