Hello
I am presently in Nigeria and my husband works with the police force CID department

He went undercover to arrest some criminals and his cover has been blown .

One of his colleagues who went for the operation together was hunted and has been killed by those criminals due to the cover that was blown

Now the criminals came looking for us at our house and thank God we were not at home that day but our dog was killed and security guarrd was wounded seriously,

We have relocated to another state within the country but the are still after us.

Plz I need to leave as soon as my life and children is in A big danger

Plz do I have a strong case and what documents would they need me to present

Do you have a TRV? If you don’t you will need to leave Nigeria to a third country, be recognized as a refugee and then hope you get resettled somewhere. Your case is still criminal activity, not persecution, so expect an uphill battle to get any sort of refugee recognition.

This is just a public forum so maybe if your case is so serious you need to consult an immigration lawyer for professional advice not amateur advice from members of the public who can only speculate on your situation.

thanks so much for you response. yes I planning on getting a trv.. But my life and the life of my husband and children are under treat from these notorious criminals. They are very angry because they were busted by my husband being an undercover. And they have been dismantled and some of there member were killed during the raiding Operation on them. I think they are so angry when they got to know that my husband and his colleagues were with them as an undercover. These people specialise in kidnapping bunkering. And also robbery. They are a very notorious criminal and even the newspaper carried out news on their activities.

Still a criminal issue and weak justification for an asylum claim. You realize a TRV can take months to process (currently showing 60 days to process) for straight forward applications?

Thanks so much sir. I really appreciate. And how can I get a lawyer. I am in Nigeria. I don't stay in Canada yet. I don't know how to go about it

A lawyer for what? A lawyer can’t do anything for you until you get to Canada. You will need to apply for a TRV and wait to see if it’s approved. If you are in that much danger, you really should look at other options or countries. A TRV for Canada is one of the most difficult visas to get.

But what about the fact that my life and life of my family is been threatened by this gangs. Out life is not safe anymore. Is that can't be enough ground for me seeking for asylum and running away for safety. Presently we have left the comfort of our home to another rural area just to hide away for the main time

You can’t claim asylum outside of Canada. And countries that produce significant numbers of refugees (like Nigeria) have a very high rate of refusals for TRVs (probably about 70% rejection rate). The fact is, your issues are criminal actions. Refugee status is based on persecution, two totally different things.
