Hi ,
I am on H1b visa living in the US and I have changed a job in the recent past .I got my COPR a month ago and in order to get my PR I need to travel to Canada and attend stamping interview .
a) What is the success rate of stamping in Canada ? (I have 3 more years on my H1 and I don't have i140 )
b) How long would it take for the stamping process to complete ? I heard about instances where people got stuck in Canada for more than a month or two .Wondering if this is a normal case or exceptional
c) What all H1b related documents do I need to carry ? Do I need to carry my client letter too ? I am working for a different client than the one the mentioned in my H1b petition and I work remotely from home. Since I don't travel to client site I don't hold client badge .I have read in some of the forums that they generally ask for client badge .Is it the case ?
d) In my PR application ,I have mentioned Vancouver as my destination location ,but now we are thinking of travelling to Ottawa for the sake of time .Do I have to travel to the same location as I ahev mentioned in the application ?

Any light on the above would be more than appreciated

For landing you dont need to apply for visa. If you have your I797 with updated/extended I94 then its enough to return back in few days. Do you really want to get the visa stamping done during the landing trip?
a. Slightly higher than India for sure.
b. Minimum time is 10 days and then it might take more days depending on the case.
c. Carry everything - few W2, some payslips, client letter, sow etc whichever you could. No one knows what they will ask.
I am not sure if working from remote is encouraged/allowed by visa officers.
d. If its pnp then you should land in the same province.

If you return from Canada within 30 days, then you don't need to apply for US Visa. You can simply use your extended/updated I-94 to return.

However, if you choose to apply for a Visa at a consulate in Canada. It will be just like applying in your home country. There is not much difference.

Is it even legal for you to work for a different client than the one mentioned in your petition?

You can work from home as long as the home address is added to your LCA. If not, it may be a problem.

Biometrics and PAI are done on same day and at the same location. I am having my H1b Stamping tomorrow at Vancouver. The appointment time is 7:45 AM while the office opens at 8:00 AM :|

Home address is where you live/stay which is your US address. Mailing too mark it as YES for the same address(i assume that you dont have any other mailing address in Canada - if you have one then of course you can give Canada address. ). After submitting DS160 and at the time of scheduling interview, they will ask where to collect the documents from(one of the listed post office locations which are available in all provinces for free of charge or to the Canadian address for 20$). This will appear only when are passed the stage of fees. FYI - Paying additional 20$ will be useful only when the post office is far as it arrives on the same day as to your delivery address or to the pickup location.

Once you choose the time and delivery location then it will show like this:
Document Delivery Location: WINDSOR A PO – 401 OUELLETTE AVE, WINDSOR, ON N9A4K0, CA
Residence Location: .................., Windsor, ON N8R 1Z5, CA

Multiple pickup locations.

But if i give US address as home address then it will show my US address for Residence Location: Right?

One couple more question:

1) So before we start filig the form, it asks what will be the location of the interview. There i filled Vancouver but for some reason if i do not find the dates in Vancouver but want Toronto then I need to filll a fresh DS -160 or is there a way I can change the current ds-160?

2) So after filling ds-160 and before taking the dates, I need to submit ds-160 (which means non editable after that as far as I think) or what I need to do with ds-160 to provide in Canada website to take the dates?

I am trying to complete my DS-160 where I am filling the location of filing application as 'QUEBEC-CANADA'. Once I submit and e-sign my DS 160 form, is it possible to change the filing location?

See below 2&3.

1. Yes it will show US address as thats your residence. Its fine.
2, 3: If you can go to any location in Canada then fill DS160 and dont submit it. Try to check the dates and then submit DS160 (with the location you get the appointment for) and book the appointment.
