I didn't have much evidence with my Common law, I just sent a joint phone bill, my ID and his driver license with the same address, my bank account and his bank account with the same address and lots of photos and 2 letters from family and friends, but after they asked me for more proof cohabitation documents, as I had no more to send, I sent more letters from friends and family and asked my landlord to write a letter saying that I lived in the Condor with my boyfriend over a year ago and last tuesday I had a landing interview and got my PR!

Hello everyone, i am january 24th applicant and i recieved that letter today:

Dear Sir;
This refers to your application for permanent residence made under the spouse or
common-law partner in Canada class.
To become a permanent resident under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada
class, you must comply with the requirements as specified in the Immigration and
Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and Regulations for this class.
To determine if you comply with these requirements you and your sponsor, are required
to appear for an interview in person at the following date, time and location:

Does anyone know if it is a landing interview or proof of relationship legitimacy?
Hi,

It does not seem to be a landing interview. I am 24th applicant and i received my PR card last week. My lending interview with a 'pleased to' and congratulations. It seems like a relationship interview. Can you tell me are you common law or married? And what did you submit? How long have you guys been together?

Can someone tell me how did you guys put name of principal applicant on utility bills, dont they require credit history or something like SIN number as a visitor with no work permit and learners license can I have a bill on my name
Whoever is the primary person registered under the utility account, can call Bell, hydro or enbridge, or do it online to add your name to their account. You might need credit check for Bell/Rogers/Fido etc, but you do not need any check on hydro or enbridge. In addition, everyone has a status in canada can undergo a credit check. You might either not have a credit history if you are new to here but it wont affect the fact you can be added to utility account.

Hello All,

I am also January inland applicant with the details below
  • Sent the application 28-Jan
  • Application receipt 30-Jan
  • AOR 19-Mar
  • Open work permit email 26-Mar
  • Medical request 10-Apr
  • Medical done 12-Apr
  • Medical update 20-Apr
Question 1- I haven't linked the OWP from the beginning, but I had linked the PR application online. But, I have already Open Work Permit yellow page. Not having OWP online link could impact the PR application? They are completely different application. I heard somewhere do not have link for the PR application could impact the timeline. Is that true?

Question 2- CIC did not request any documentation yet? I am from France, and living in Canada. I provided the police certification with the package at the beginning. Do you think they will send me the DM directly? Looks my process is late compare to the others which applied same time. Landing interview is mandatory for everybody? or they could send the PR card without any interview.

Thank you for your answers.
Are you common law or married? I have not heard or seen anyone from January applicant received PR card directly yet. No update after medical?

hi guys,

I am planning to apply for my husband's PR who is already here on student visa.
Do we need a consultant or any assistance given the spouse sponsorship includes a lot of paperwork?
Is it doable/manageable by oneself?

I use paper clips to separate each part. I think we organized it according to the checklist. There are a list 1 to 10. so each part we wrote a short or long explanation of what it is about. for example, police certificate and photo id, we just describes in this part (clipped it with paper clip) we have PC and IDs. Sth like that.I dont remember the checklist order. But that was what we use to organize our docs.

For the pictures, we printed them out in A4 paper by having 2 photos in one page. and we wrote who are in the photos and our names and DOB on every photo. And we clipped them together with supporting letter from friends and family.

Hope it helps. Good luck!

That was what my husband and I thought, If we can read and speak English, we can do it application ourselves. cos all we have to do is a lot of reading and organizing docs. That's all. Good luck!

I didnt have it notarized. They just signed them. I just saw it as one of the proofs we can give. so i did it. It is up to you. If you think your application is strong already, no need. I did it anyway.
