Hi,
What is the benefits of public university than public colleges in the aspects of fee, scholarships, getting admission as an international student?About Fully funded courses in public University?
Thanks
Anu
Public Universities:
- Advantages:
Highly ranked and highly reputable.
Offer a more quality education.
Some universities offer co-op programs that can give you invaluable experiences.
University's degrees are more respected and better regarded by employers compared to college's qualifications.
Guaranteed chance of getting PGWP after graduation.
Very high visa success rate.
Can pursue Masters or PhD later on.
- Disadvantages:
Can be expensive.
Much higher admissions requirements compared to colleges.
Harder education, forcing you to work harder.
Takes longer to complete your program.
Public Colleges:
- Advantages:
Much cheaper compared to universities.
Easier programs.
Shorter duration.
- Disadvantages:
Not as respected and less regarded compared to university's degrees.
PGWP can be shorter and is not guaranteed.
Lower chance to getting visa.
Very difficult to be accepted to a Masters or PhD program with a college's qualification.
I would personally pick Universities because they are better in every way compared to colleges. However, if your grades are low or you don't have money, then college is the next best thing. Avoid private schools at all costs.
