AOR will be sent to your sponsor. If tour sponsor included his email on one of the forms (I honestly can't remember which, but it was one of the very few sponsor forms) it should go to their email. You can also check the status on the online tool with the application number (which you have now that you've linked it to your account) and/or your UCI number :)
I received my AOR end of June but still not able to link the application to my account. Tried using different information (UCI/Application#/First name, last name etc) but no luck. I made sure I entered principal applicant's info and number of applicants 2.
Any suggestion?

I followed the instructions in this thread:
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/how-to-link-an-application-to-cic-account-step-by-step-instruction.619724/

It seems to help most people. Dont get discouraged, their online portal is not super user friendly most of the time, so it's not you, its them. You could also try reporting a technical issue using their webform and maybe they can give you some helpful info

Just a quick question. Does anybody's PR application status details say "we're processing your background check"?
Mine is still at the first phase:

We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

You may not hear from us for a little while, this is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.

Thanks for your answers, guys! They didn't request my medical or biometrics yet but they are processing my background check. o_O
I've checked the thread for April applicants and it seems that it usually goes in this order: AOR-> Medical->Background check.

When you look in ECAS do you have a decision made about your sponsor? Because mine came super early in the process (as far as I can tell, I haven't seen many posts about sponsors being approved). They're just mixing up all the things now!

Sponsor's ECAS has been showing "in process" for the past 2 weeks.
Yeah, it seems like they've been doing things out of the usual order.

Aren't inland applicants currently exempt from giving biometrics?
That's what I thought too, but I got an email this morning requesting me to pay the biometric fee, so idk what they're doing. I made a thread about it to see if anyone else has gotten the same email but it's already buried

I called CIC today, my application (May 17th) hasn't been looked at yet. But the rep told me that they are sending out AORs for May 13th applicants currently.

I know this isn't entirely accurate, as our May 16th applicants have been receiving AORs. I can only assume that he means that those who applied on the 13th are getting theirs sent through the mail rather than electronically. I also called last Monday (July 22nd) and the rep I spoke to said that they were processing May 13th applications so.... *shrug*

Inside Canada

If you are applying in person in Canada, you will be able to give your biometric information at specified Service Canada locations starting in 2019. Until then, IRCC says anyone applying for a visa, study or work permit or permanent residence in Canada is exempt from the biometrics requirement.

Trust me friends, I know that we're supposed to be exempt from giving biometrics, and I was super confused about hearing from IRCC.

That still doesnt invalidate the letter I received this morning stating
"This letter refers to your application for permanent residence.
On July 31st, 2018, biometrics (fingerprints and a photograph) became a requirement for some IRCC
applicants. Your application was received on or after July 31st, 2018. After a summary review of your
application, it was determined that requirement applies to you.
In order for IRCC to process your application, you must complete/submit the following to this office by
2019/08/31 (formatted as “year/month/day”)"

They should (now that I've submitted the receipt for the fee) send a letter with instructions on where to go. I'm assuming this means that at least one Service Canada office here in the Vancouver area is now able to collect biometrics? Either that or they're going to ask me to go back to the US to do it? Not sure, I'll keep everyone updated.

I have a good feeling about this. It seems unlikely that they would ask an applicant to pay the biometrics fee if they weren't able to collect biometrics. Plus, my understanding was that IRCC advises applicants to stay in Canada while their PR applications are processed so it would be a little odd if they made us all go abroad to give biometrics.

It would be great if they are finally offering them at Service Canada offices, because I'm gonna have to go to one to get my SIN once my OWP arrives and it would be fantastic if I could do both at the same time ;)
