I worry about entering under dual intent for some reason, even though I know it is a legit process. Are you both living in the UK at the moment?
Yeah I understand that. It is nerve-wracking because of the uncertainty. However, they have no reason to deny my husband entry and I'm sure the case is the same for you! We are both in the UK at the moment yes. But it feels like our lives are on hold, while we wait (which is how I'm sure everyone else feels as well)! I figure that at least if we are waiting in Canada, I can be getting started on mortgage processes and whatnot.

Well on my side i'm just gonna take my summer vacation , tossing away all this confusing process and having a good time with my wife there.

I suggest the same to the majority that can afford. Cause been here stressed out at 50% of the 12 months.. that's not worth i don't believe in miracle anymore, it's gonna be what is gonna be with timing, and yes i will send a letter at the end to the minister for improving the process for the ones applying in the future.

We gonna get sick if we always think about this process. So have a beer go outside, try to pass some time with the PA (if you can) cause this person is even MORE in the unkown than us as sponsor.... we sometimes forget this fact. (Expecially if the person is on outland application)

That said, for all that are in vacation or soon to be ,enjoy !

Hi @Chloe10 and @vaudsama ,

We are indeed still waiting like you are to be moved to the VO or get an AOR2. Currently I'm visiting my husband in the UK so we're at least together which is a HUGE improvement over the past six years that we've been in a long-distance relationship. :)

We were hoping we would have received a decision in time for us to head back to Canada in the fall and start getting our lives settled, but I don't think that's going to happen now. We feel the same as you - like our lives are on hold and we can't make any decisions to move forward. But, we're trying to make the best of it. My parents and son are coming to London next week to visit so we're going to spend a couple of weeks showing them around and having fun.

Depending on when the decision is made, my husband will likely enter Canada under Dual Intent later in the fall and we'll either stay with my parents or rent an apartment until the decision comes through. We're ready to buy a house, but are a bit nervous to until we get the 100% confirmation that his PR is approved. That's about all we can do for now I guess. :)

It's great that you are together at the moment! That will make things a bit nicer!

If/when you and @Chloe10 go for dual intent please keep me posted on how it goes.

I will keep my fingers crossed that we all hear something soon!

and on Ecas, i think i entered right info (UCI, Family name, Birthdate), I also did you've suggested on surname but no luck, still the same result.
Hello, I've just received a response from my inquiry via webform, it says that my application has been cancelled on May 31, 2019 and the messaged was sent to our online account with more details about the decision. There was no message sent and still no timeline when we checked. Also, our papers was not sent back to us after it got cancelled in May. It is really frustrating to be honest, any advice please? Is there any number to call asides from IRCC hotline? My husband called that number before I got the news about the cancellation of my application, he was only told to monitor his timeline on his online account, but there was no details shown.

Tomorrow gonna achieve complete solid 7 months with no file transfer yet, awaiting transfer to London visa office - which is depressive...
God help us all to overcome this stressful life and compensate us.

Which is driving me crazy that the application is not being processed, all they did till now is biometrics, medical, sa, criminality check then radio silence.

Eligibility and background check didn't start yet - awaiting file transfer to the slowest visa office around the world, Yes, more slow than Sydney... i am not even sure its 12 month process or 12 month of freaking stressful life.

That's great that you're now together! Makes the process easier! Also very comforting to know there are people in a very similar situation as ours. Good luck and will keep you posted @vaudsama and @Lee&Stacey

Hi Helen,

Sorry to hear that. But there is no such status as “cancelled”. Application can be approved, refused, withdrawn, or returned due to incorrectly filled out or missing form.

It can also be cancelled if they decide a PA doesn't need a PR (if a PA is already a Canadian citizen, for example), and for some other reasons.
