Upfront Exams

Hey guys, I have a question. If I don't do my upfront exams will I get an AOR after submitting my application?

The reason is that my current visa expires next week and I really want to submit everything and get an AOR so I can apply for my bridging work permit before it expires. I would do the exams today, but the results would only be in 7-10 days, so I would lose the chance of getting a bridging wp.

Please let me know if anyone been through this as well.

Thank you!

Hi,
Sorry about that. After you do the exam, you'll be given an e-form that has your picture and some other details on it. That's all that is needed to upload unto your application page. You don't need to wait for the result.

Ohhhh! That's even better! Thank you so much. I have another question, don't know if you'd know how to answer it (I'm praying that you can Lol).

My work permit expires on this Tuesday (30th) and if everything goes right, I'll be getting an AOR soon. I read that you need to have a valid work permit to apply for bridging work permit, but do I need to have my current one valid for the time they're processing my application for the bridging wp or just on the day I apply and then I get implied status?

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to this. Why don't you check the CIC website? I'll look around to get an answer to this question.

Yeah, I saw this one. But it does not clarify if my work permit needs to be valid while they process the application :(

This type of work permit lets you keep working while you wait for the results of your permanent residence application.

You may be eligible for a bridging open work permit if:

  • you applied for permanent residence OK
  • your current work permit expires in 4 months or less Definitely OK hahah
  • you have valid status on your work permit Just when I apply or until I get the bridging wp approved?
  • you are currently in Canada OK

I think its clear. It does not need to be valid during the processing period. They quote that your work permit is valid for 4 months or less. What if it's valid for just 2 month does IRCC guarantee that your application will be processed in 2 months? I doubt that. So I'm certain that as long as you apply while your permit is valid it should not be an issue. Don't sweat about it.

That's what I thought so too. And I just found this as well: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1476 which answers the question.

Thanks for your help!!!!
