Why a minor applicant was asked to write a citizenship test?

My 16-year old daughter applied for her citizenship herself. She received an update for her application status to ask her to write a citizenship test on August 28. It is unexcepted because a minor applicant should not be required a test. She's never prepared for the test. Is here someone having an idea with that?

It is likely the minor applicant received a notice to attend the PI Interview and it included a notice for the test even though the minor applicant is not required to take the test AND will NOT be asked to take the test . . . just interviewed.

IRCC tends to use stock templates or forms for the notices and it is up to individual applicants to discern what part of the communication actually applies to them personally.

It has been several years since I similarly received a notice to take the test even though I was test exempt (at the other end of the age spectrum, by a lot). At the time scheduled those taking the test went into one room and a couple of us, who were test exempt, went into a separate room to be interviewed. No test.

I have seen a number of similar reports by forum participants more recently.

This ^^^. The same happened with my invitation, even though I am "test exempt". It's a boiler-plate generic form.

That letter is generic and in your daughter's case it is for interview only since test is for applicants between 18 and 54 years of age. On the day she will skip the test part and proceed to interview.

Thanks. You are right. My daughter didn't forward me the attachment file she received in an email. I looked into the file which is clearly advising her to attend an interview only.
