Landing/First Entry in Montreal for Express Entry

Dear All,

I have received my COPR (Express Entry) and it states Vaughan (Ontario) as city of destination. However I purchased round tickets to Montreal as it was most convenient flight (less connections, affordable price). I do not have Certificat de Selection du Quebec. Now question is can I land (first entry) in Quebec even if I am not Quebec selectee ? Or should I absolutely travel to Toronto or Ottawa for the landing/first entry?

Appreciate if you could share your experience.

You can land anywhere in Canada except Quebec

Actually you can definitely land in Montreal airport. I faced this likely scenario as well and then did a google search.

I found many threads on this website with people who said they landed in Montreal Airport with absolutely no problem.

They were also able to do their landing processing there and that the Montreal Airport staff were very nice and accommodating.

So i'm sure it's no problem to land in Montreal.

You can land anywhere as long as the address you will be providing upon landing is outside of Quebec

Yes, if you intend to settle there permanently. "Coming" is more like "Coming to stay".

Hi .. Did you actually do it and first landed in Montreal? Am on the same situation and would like a confirmation please?
