Health coverage when moving to another Province with in a month of landing in Canada

Hi, I have landed in Toronto on 3-July-2019. I have seen that there are lots of opportunities in my field in Alberta. I have not applied for health card in Ontario as my PR card and Driver's license applications are in process. If I move to Alberta now, which is around a month spent in Ontario, when will my health coverage start in Alberta. Also what will happen to my PR card and Driver License application?

As your would be an inter-province move, there is a 3 month wait as I think you know. Some links here for private insurers to cover the gap:

No point in applying for OHIP though because you won’t meet the residency requirement to qualify.

Who qualifies
To qualify for OHIP, you must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below plus at least oneof the additional requirements.

To meet the minimum qualifications you must:

• be physically in Ontario for 153 days in any 12‑month period
• be physically in Ontario for at least 153 days of the first 183 days immediately after you began living in the province
• make Ontario your primary home

Nothing will happen to your PR card except if you gave an address in Ontario, your PR card will be sent to Ontario.

Thanks. How about my eligibility for healthcare in Alberta?
Will I be considered a resident of other Province or a new immigrant (since I don’t have OHIP and only stayed temporarily in Ontario)?
I understand that Alberta has different criteria for healthcare eligibility for new immigrant and residents from other provinces.

Others can correct me but once you have landed and are a PR I would read that as that you are no longer a new immigrant in the true sense given you are moving from Ontario not from outside Canada no matter how long you lived in Ontario. So you would be subject to the three month wait in Alberta
