Hi I am 33 years old & my wife is of 32 years.

I have done my Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science) and has 10+ years of IT Industry Experience.
My wife has done MBA and MA ( in Economics) with 5+ years of Experience.

We do not have any education or work experience of Canada and are currently in United States on a work Visa.

My IELTS score is 8.5 and of my wife is 6.5 overall. We are planning to apply for a PR of Canada by 2020 and settle there so my wife can also work there.

Do we have a good option for getting an invitation. Please let us know of our chances ( as we have 2 kids so we want to move ahead with advice).

Thanks.

How many points do you have under the Express Entry points system (CRS)?

Hi,

Are there some more options that I can try out?

Thanks

You really need to be in the 460+ points range in order to be selected through Express Entry. 419 is too low to expect an invitation.

Forget about getting a job offer. This is next to impossible to do.

You should look for other ways to increase your score (e.g. higher language test results, etc.). If increasing your score isn't possible - then you'll need to look into the provincial immigration programs.

Thanks for the info.

Yes you are right. Job volume is quite less in Canada as compared to US and salaries are also too low.

This is the 2nd time I appeared for IELTS. If I do not get a job offer then I will look forward for some other destination like Australia or NZ.

Once again thanks.

Has less to do with job volume , then you not being authorized to work in Canada . Employers looking to hire someone typically won’t go thru the steps and expense required to do a LMIA which is required when hiring a foreign national
They’ll hire a citizen or PR first
The wages are different because it’s a different country

Yes I agree however after residing for almost 1.5 years in Unites States, I feel that Canada as less no of opportunities as compared to here or other countries like Australia or Europe. I can see that very well on job portals too.

Ok, then I guess your plan of applying for PR in 2020 as you mentioned earlier today probably isn’t such a good idea since there’s so much less opportunity in jobs and salaries in Canada compared to other countries you mentioned

Good luck

I agree that job opportunities might be more in US because US is a bigger country with bigger economy, but are you sure about Australia? What is your basis for that claim? I did random search for keyword 'Java' in indeed.ca (top portal for Canada) and seek.com.au (top portal for Australia) .. there are 4400+ jobs in Canada, but at the same time there are only 3400+ for same skill in Australia.

Europe is collection of multiple countries and economies.. I'm not sure why you are including that in comparison. Moreover it is impossible to immigrate to Europe without job offer + knowing a different language other than English.

Unless your wife can improve her IELTS score to 8777, can provide evidence for work experience for at least 3 years in last ten years, it would be very hard to immigrate to Canada. Very few PNP s are possible without job offer, even they are more or less like a black hole either with limited noc or crazy requirements like attending some sessions or opaque criteria. Your best bet would be to pursue Australia for PR as the emphasis there for points is on work experience and not on education.

Since your wife has a Masters degree (assuming it is evaluated as equivalent to Canadian Masters), it will be better if she can be the primary. She will need to improve her IELTS score and make sure she has 3 years of documented work experience. CRS score cutoffs for getting ITA have been 460+ recently, but those may drop to about 455 or so by the end of the year.
