Dear All,

I am deeply concerned over one issue for which I am unable to find a proper answer. Request all the experts/seniors here to advise me on the same.

I have scored 451 points in EE system and expecting an ITA in the next draw. Since I am a Government Employee in India, am I required to obtain a "NOC" from my employer before submitting my documents after ITA?? OR, is there any rule which prohibits me from applying for the PR of Canada as a government employee.

Kindly advise.

Thanks in advance.

There is no rule prohibiting you from applying for PR.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Would be very much helpful if I can get any written rule of Government of India/Court rulings, etc on this matter.

Whether you are allowed to immigrate to Canada has nothing to do with Government of India/Court rulings. Canada decides who is able to immigrate here (India has no say in the matter).

Again, there is no restriction placed on government workers immigrating to Canada. So there is going to be no written rule to find from Government of India/Court rulings on this matter.

You should however be aware that you will require a personal passport, not a government employee passport for the immigration process. This question has come up in the past, so I thought that it is worth mentioning.

I am a govt. official in Bangladesh joined few months ago.
Is there any possibility that CIC may ask for NOC from my current employer???

I am applying with the experience that I have while working in a private company.
