Study Permit Expiration - Apply Outside of Canada

My study permit expires July 30, 2019. I am not in Canada therefore I am not eligible to apply for an extension. I believe I am unable to apply for the restoration of temporary resident status because I would be applying from outside Canada. In this scenario should I apply for a new study permit by completing the general application for study permit made outside of Canada form ?

You can apply for extension outside Canada. Are you not planning to go back until after it expires?

yes, I plan to return in August and by then my permit would have expired.

Will your TRV also be expired?
You should be able to apply for extension while outside Canada only restoration requires you to be in Canada, but you are taking a risk as you never know when you will get it so you could be stuck with no way to return, then if you miss your semester and get dropped the problems compound even further.

I applied my study permit extension, a few weeks after I left Canada. I did not realize that I will be technically applying outside Canada. But in my application, I have given my Canadian address and all the required documents. Do you think there will be an issue ? Appreciate!
