Location Change amendment filed in Closed Work Permit

Hello Everyone,

Currently, I have a closed work permit (ICT Transfer) with location - Toronto. I got another assignment in Calgary for the same employer and I have to join by Aug 2019. This employer has an office in Toronto and Calgary.

I understand, that an amendment needs to be filed for changing the location on the work permit, however, my question is, can I work in Calgary till the amendment gets approved by the cic. Normally amendment of work permit takes around 90+ days.

I had a word with Attorney, and he said that for a person to move to Calgary, his amendment should be filed and approved.

I am in a similar situation . Can you please help . I am yet to travel to Canada but my project got changed and hence location changed to Vancouver whereas Visa was raised for Toronto.
