Hi everyone

I've been reading these forums for a few months now and want to thank everyone at large for being a great resource.

That said, I'm not sure if/what I should do about my current situation:

I am a Canadian citizen living in the United States, in preparing to sponsor my spouse under family class we first sent a proof of citizenship application for our minor child - this application was sent at end of April 2019.

By end of June 2019, I had not received AOR for proof of citizenship application, not wanting to delay my spouse's PR application any later, I sent the application off with ANOTHER UPDATED proof of citizenship application for our child (using the same payment receipt as the first) included with the PR application. I also included a letter explaining that we'd already applied but had not sent it registered mail and was not sure if it was lost in the mail.

I got an AOR for the FIRST proof of citizenship application July 8,2019, which shows it was received May 3, 2019.

I have just sent a webform notifying CIC that I sent a second proof of citizenship for my child and would like to withdraw that once it is received.

At this point, I am mostly worried that the two proof of citizenship applications will slow down my spouse's PR application.

If I already sent the webform notifying them and used the same payment receipt, what else can I do to smooth the process going forward? What else should I be worried about?

Comments / other experiences welcome.

Thanks

The second app will be discarded, as you cannot apply for the child's Certificate of Citizenship along with your spouse's PR.

The Certificate app has nothing to do with your spouse's PR app and will not affect it.

Hello,
I sent an application for proof of citizenship myself ( I legally changed my name and wanted my name updated on the certificate). They received it on April 1st and AOR May 8. Today We're two months past since I got my aor and it still says application received. It doesn't say they started processing it or anything.

I have created proof of citizenship timeline thread, post in there with your timeline and be sure to come back for updates and post if you have any updates too.

Thanks and good luck.

Thanks, the certificate app was included as the 'proof that our child is Canadian' part of the PR app since I had planned to include the AOR as proof for the certificate app but hadn't received it by the time I sent it off.

Then you should just have included the receipt number. Anyways, it will most likely get discarded.
