Please advise me if someone knows about this!

My parents are in Canada with Visitor visa and I got an invitation for Parents Sponsorship so all the docs were submitted and waiting for a file number.

My question is if my parents find someone who is willing to sponsor them for work permit, are they able to apply for the work permit?

I concern if it affects negatively for PR process.
Getting an LMIA and a WP is a 4-6 month process and cost employers don't want to go through the hassle and expense. Not sure why you would go through the hassle given that they will eventually get PR. It won't save you a lot of time.

Would also mention if your husband has kids or has co-signed for ex-wife's parents or his own parents you must count all those people in the family size.

Thats not very encouraging :)
But then we have cases from 2018 who got landed within 140 days of PGP application so around 5 months !
The whole IRCC process is really a mystery.
You can't compare it to last year. So far it has been different at each stage and they are accepting double the applications. Just stick with the 12-24 months timeline according to IRCC and be happy if it is faster.

I tried linking the application, In the applicant

your application got returned completely ? or they gave an opportunity to provide the certificate ?
They gave me chance to provide it. I email the certificate to them right away. Not sure how long it will be delayed?

@YULIA-2016 please update line 23.

Received biometric collection request today. only for my dad. when I submitted the application, the application form indicates that my mom is in Canada and my dad is in China. Thanks
Congrats!

I think it's safe to draw a conclusion, at least for now, domestic applicants (in Canada when applying) do not require biometrics. I'm still leaning toward biometrics will be requested at a later stage in the process and/or when domestic facilities are set up.

Why can't we compare it to last year
Off course we can use it as reference. And get an estimate.

The person was complaining that applications last year have been processed much faster and that one was processed in 140 days. Yes you can compare to last year but people keep expecting things to be done at the same time as last year and so far it hasn't bee the same so comparing in such precise detail is a bit pointless. General comparison is fine but exact dates and timelines aren't helpful.

I never complain :). I was responding to Yulia, all in a lighter vein.

It sometimes happen to me when i am using Chrome. Try another browser (i use firefox and it works) and it should take you to another page which you can link the application.
