Jan 29 applicant. I had ghost update on June 24th and eligibility passed today
It's irrelevant now that you're a PR.I got my COPR today at interview. Was so quick I was in shock she told me I’d need new SIN etc. But I wanted to know they didn’t explain about my tourist visa does it get cancelled?
So it doesn’t get cancelled? It's irrelevant now that you're a PR.
It's a ghost update when it says profile updated and nothing changed. What is a ghost update? My gckey showed profile update in the current status. Was that a ghost update?
Hi, Congratulations on becoming PR.I just had my interview today in Etobicoke.
I arrived at 10 AM, my interview schedule was 11 AM.
I got the queue number, waited till 11.30 and my number was called.
My advice is just come sooner, they do first come first serve.
The interview didn’t seem like interview, more like questioning and answering and also it was done in the counter.
The interview took 5 minutes and the lady said congratulations now I am permanent resident.
She gave me COPR and explained some things like SIN, OHIP, and citizenship/PR renewal process.
Just beside the CIC there is Service Canada then I proceed changing my SIN to permanent one (starts with 5, not 9).
The guy also said congrats on my PR.
There were not so many people there.
Waited for 15 minutes then my name called, proceed 5 minutes then finished!
Tomorrow I will go to Service Ontario to process my OHIP.
Wish everyone luck!
Thank you so much for everyone in this forum
Did you take your visit visa paper in with you? They punch a hole in it?So it doesn’t get cancelled?
Thank youHi, Congratulations on becoming PR.
Just out of curiosity, may I ask what sort of questions do they ask???
My tourist visa is in my passport no they didn’t punch a hole in it, they took the passport but that’s it.Did you take your visit visa paper in with you? They punch a hole in it?
You are a permanent resident now so the visitor visa is no longer effective.
