Hi,

I have applied for Federal Skilled worker express entry and I got AOR. If I get married after getting CoPR (visa) and before landing to Canada. I have no intention to take my wife to Canada now because she is studying and I want to get settled there first.

So my question is that:

1) Do I need to inform IRCC about my marriage?
2) If yes then will they ask for her medical and PCC even though I have no intention to taker her along with me
3) Will they cancel my CoPR and re-issue it? How much time it will take?

Actually I don't want to delay my process and want to go to Canada asap.

Thanks in advance

Yes, even if she is not accompanying you now .

Yes they will cancel it.
Depends - case by case

Others can comment as well and Maybe stating the obvious but do not get married and then land as single given then you will never be able to bring your wife.

Either as per your post inform IRCC before landing and have your COPR issued as married with your wife as non accompanying sorting out PR later or land as single then get married post PR landing then sponsor your wife through spousal PR.

If were me and my to be wife were agreeable I would take the latter option although of course that could take up to 12 months for PR to process but if she is studying maybe that is not such a big deal.

1) Yes - it's mandatory.
2) Yes.
3) Yes. Expect the process to take around four months.

Hi @scylla, I've got a similar story. I got my CoPR in February 2019, however I got married in April 2019 and informed CIC through a web form.
Submitted the additional kit along with the spousal information and her Medicals on the May 14, 2019.
Its been dead silence since then, ofcourse there's a UCI number issued to my wife, but no progress on file since then.
It's been over 2.5 months....

I've written emails to the NDVO where my file is getting processed however nothing from them.
What's the advise that you can give.

So far your processing times look perfectly normal. It seems to take at least four months to hear back after all paperwork to add a spouse has been added. There's nothing you can do but wait. Contacting NDVO isn't going to speed things up. Plan on a 4-6 month wait from May 14, 2019.
