Hi. I'm sorry, this is the first time that I join a forum. My "application is taking them longer than usual". I applied on Nov 23 (expected date to get the process complete May 23). I have asked for the notes and got the standard response, that they would complete the process as soon as possible. Called the agents twice and got the same answer: the application is at the office in Ottawa, everything is fine with the application, no additional documents required. So, what can I do other than just wait? Is there a usual timeframe to expect in terms of delay?

From what I have seen its been a trend and there are applications going beyond 6 months. Then one fine day golden email of PPR. Looking at the trend they are quite random in clearing back log files. For Nov, cases of 17/18 are still pending and Nov 25/26/27 have been cleared. For now lets hope they respond back on time with a positive message. Did you figure out which is your Visa officer location - edmonton/london/ottawa?
How do you know that those cases are clear? Would you be able to check about Nov 23? It was when I applied. Thanks.
