I wouldn’t trust what they say on the phone. Their information changes all the time depending on the agent speaking to you.
If you got pre arrival letter that means your eligibility is passed. Usually criminality is passed before they request medicals, but who knows anymore.
Have you requested GCMS notes? You can see all that info in there. Some people request multiple ones throughout their application.

I haven't got pre-arrival letter. They requested criminal record along with medical request more than 1 year ago. And no, I haven't requested GCMS notes. I didn't know of that before and now I think there would be no sense to ask one.

16months without MR and for us 12 - 13 months since MP, and still nothing. im thinkin maybe there is something weird happened on some applications of nov dec 2017 and jan feb 2018 they just dont want to disclosed it.

I’m starting to think the same. Myself as an example, inland applicant, single, never left Canada since I got here, no criminal records (not even traffic tickets), no complicated travel history, no military service history.

My application should be pretty straightforward to process but it’s taking this long. I think some weird stuff happened to our applications.

You know about you very well, but officer should check all info about your cause. You like a black box for him/her. The same thing as well for me and other applications.
