I was hoping you would be able to assist me. I received confirmation that my application has been successful and have submitted my and my husbands passports for the issuing of our permanent residency VISA's. However, when I logged onto the portal this morning I saw that the VISA will only be valid until 28 August 2019?

This is a slight concern as we haven't received our passports back from the embassy yet, which doesn't leave much time to prepare our trip to Canada. In addition to this, our medicals are valid until October 2019.

I am struggling to understand why we have less than two months to land in Canada to ‘activate’ or PR status, when should effectively have until October? How can I go about correcting this and is there a way to get it extended?

Is your passport expiring in August?
No, our passports are fine. We got confirmation today that our PR was approved but on the system it says it is valid until 28 August 2019. If we don’t land before then, then we have to reapply.

As our Medicals only expire in Oct, I don’t understand why we only have a month to land, and we don’t even have our passports back from the embassy...????

Preparation doesn't depend on passports, does it?

Also, you could just buy tickets, go and land. Then you can return to your country and prepare properly for the move.
