Well, finally, I received a change in status:

AoE: 2nd of May, 2019.
Medicals passed: 24th of June, 2019
Additional Document Request: Update of Police Certificate from our current country of residence (Mexico) for me and my partner (the original was issued on April 23rd, 2019) and a Certified Police Clearance from the RCMP for me.

We are waiting for these two documents for the process to keep rolling.

Do you see the status bar?

Is the 6 months begin June 24 or May 2nd for you? Do you know if CIC still process your application (such as other eligibility) or they will have to wait until PPC from you first?

Interesting question. I included an online certificate with my application also. This is the way to get one here in Austria and it is identical to the paper version, just with a reference number instead of a stamp. IRCC's instructions do not specifically say that it is not accepted.. When I read their instructions for my country, they say to get one at this and that department, but refer to a link that tells you to get it online with mobile identity. Which is what I did. Did not even consider that it might not be accepted. I sure hope they won't reject my case for this, I will keep you posted! Thanks for pointing this out!

I still believe it depends on from which country the PCC is issued. For example, there is a clear note on Canada.com website for Poland's PCC not to be issued electronically. However, in the case of Jordan or Austria, there is no clear evidence on the legalization of the electronic certificate.

In Jordan, they would print the electronic non-conviction certificate on a black and white paper and attest it. Hopefully, this wouldn't cause an issue.

I'm terribly sorry, I missed this part in the info about obtaining a PCC in Austria:
  • To apply online, you require a citizen's card (Bürgerkarte) and a qualifying electronic signature with your mobile phone (Handy-Signatur)
So I guess it's alright in my case. You're right though, it does say that with Poland and nothing at all about Jordan. Does this certificate contain an electronic signature than can be verified? (Edit: just saw that you said it contains a verifiable digital signature. So it's basically the same as here. Please let us know what IRCC tells you in response to your inquiry. I hope it wont be an issue!!)

It has a link which will direct you to view the certificate on the ministry of Justice website.

just saw that you said it contains a verifiable digital signature. So it's basically the exact same thing as here. My PDF contains a traceable link that tells you that there were no modifications to this document. Please let us know what IRCC tells you in response to your inquiry. I hope it wont be an issue!

i wonder why they asked for and Updated PCC for your country of residence. Because this one was only issue 9 days before your AOR .

Nope, the 6 months started from the 2nd of May, 2019; therefore, the expected day for COPR in the status bar is Nov, 2nd. Regarding the question about other stages of the application going ahead while we wait for the new police certificates, I have no idea. I hope that is the case, though.

On why they requested a new PCC from Mexico, it remains a complete mystery to me. I mean, the one we submitted with the application was not even 10 days old when we sent it to them. I am guessing that it is something to do with how are you supposed to get it according to their website.

In their website, IRCC mentions that if you live in Mexico you are supposed to upload a sheet of paper saying that you live in a country that requires a letter from the local Canadian Embassy to get the Police Clearance. My fianceé and I, however, were a little bit proactive in this regard and asked the Canadian embassy in Mexico -who is the entity that will issue this letter regardless- if we could start the process to obtain the PCC before IRCC requested us to do it. The embassy sent us the letters to obtain the Police certificate, and so we got it before submitting the application. We, naively, thought that this would speed up the processing of our application. But actually, it only delayed it.

I guess IRCC takes very seriously the protocols they set up for the different countries. So you can not skip any step by being proactive or otherwise.

In Jordan, there is a new procedure for the new-conviction certificate which is part Jordan PCC along with good conduct certificate. The new certificate is issued online, and there is a code to authenticate the certificate from the ministry of justice website. However, the guideline in the Canada.com website is outdated.

I called the Ministry of Justice in Jordan and I was told that online certificate is enough as long as the party requesting the certificate is accepting it, otherwise I could get an attested copy of the certificate from the Ministry of Foreign affairs (Black and white copy). My AOR is 14th May 2019, and my MEP AND BIL 20th June 2019.

Yesterday (24th June 2019) I raised IRCC webform with an attested copy from the Ministry of Foreign affairs given that the information on Canada.com website is outdated and I'm not sure whether they would accept the online certificate or not. I understand there are some countries from which online certificates are rejected such as Poland while its acceptable in other countries such as UAE and I'm not sure whether they would accept the Jordanian one or not.

My question is whether this would have any significance on my application? and in case the online certificate is rejected, would they consider my IRCC webform ?
If you have not yet filed your application, you can include a LoE detailing out this process and providing an option that if necessary, you are willing to provide a certified copy.

If you have already submitted your application with the online PCC, and have subsequently sent your certified PCC, just wait, most likely it will be taken into account.
